As we Educate girls in different places, often the feedback we get is that Turkey is a very modern country and girls have access to education. Why do we need to help. That feedback is often from privileged people in Turkey or perhaps some people in the West.
It's a different story on ground with the girls. Age 14, there is an important test students take which places them in a more fast track to success or a more quieter, simpler education. Many girls especially in some of the more rural communities, are discouraged from studying hard for or taking that test seriously. In Turkey, we focus on helping girls with that test, that milestone, that right of passage.
We now also have online modules in Turkish and the response has been amazing. Girls want to learn. Girls want to be encouraged to blossom and excel.
Too often, they are told, education is extra. It's not. It's a basic right and their excellence is not something that needs permission, but encouragement.
Every dollar you give to this cause encourages these girls to blossom. Thank you!
