Little Saima* dreams of being a doctor one day. The 11-year old lives with her mother and three sisters in Sylhet, Bangladesh. Abandoned by her husband, Saima’s mother has to work extra hard to support her family. With schools closed due to Covid-19 and because her mother could not afford it, Saima could not continue at school. Her inability to support her child’s education has been a severe burden on Saima’s mother. But now, Saima can continue her education even in this pandemic! Due to JAAGO’s sponsorship program, Saima now has a guardian angel taking care of her studies.

It is undeniable that the future of an entire population lies in the hands of women; at JAAGO, we want to equip these hands with the most potent weapon for any individual, a pen. JAAGO takes on a holistic approach to providing knowledge to the children at our school for them to be aware of the latest developments in the world.

For the girl students at JAAGO, our mission is to make them academically successful and develop their minds to think beyond what they are taught at home. These children are often raised in conventional communities with a strict sense of perspective. For these children to become strong individuals with an understanding of their rights and be attuned to the upcoming topics of global discussion, JAAGO organises different seminars and workshops for them.

But unfortunately still today there are some popular beliefs in our society regarding girl's education. For example, people believe that girls should stay at home, do the household chores and look after the children only. Due to these beliefs, many girls have to engage themselves with 24/7 household activities from a very young age.

Due to such beliefs, many low-income families in our country are indifferent to educating their daughters. For them, it will be just another luxurious expense and nothing else. So yes, your donations for our girl's education projects can give our girls a better life, a life where they will get all the opportunities to get an education and live their dreams.

Many children like Saima look to be sponsored to receive the basic right to education and dream beyond their limits and break free from the shackles of poverty. However, through your sponsorship or donation, female children receive opportunities that they are not born to. Help change lives by donating and educating a girl child like Saima.

Thank You Note

We want to express our gratitude to the donors of this project. They are gifting female children with the opportunity to receive education and pave the way for them to bring sustainable change to their community.

*Under the safeguarding policy to protect the child's rights, either the name or the picture, or both, have been changed.
