lndian Association for the Blind (lAB), based in South India, is a well-known non-profit organization working to provide good quality education, employment, training and rehabilitation for the visually challenged from rural areas. It was established in 1985 by visually challenged activist Late Mr. S.M.A.Jinnah and a group of like-minded visually challenged people. Till date, more than 11200 youths have been benefited by us and now hold prestigious positions in society.
For this project, we have received donations from 74 donors and the total amounts to $7866.75. This monetary help has certainly helped us in implementing our educational project ideas for the welfare of our students and in taking each of them closer to their dream of being educated.
Using the donations we received, we were able to provide good quality Braille study material and well-equipped educational kits to our beneficiaries to aid in their learning. This will be useful for improving their skills and will also give them the opportunity to gain more knowledge and interest towards education. Above all, education gives them the confidence of being on par with sighted individuals.
