Christel House Indianapolis is a public charter school that serves students in under-served neighborhoods in Indianapolis. For many students, the obstacle to education is not ability, but lack of opportunity. With your support, Christel House Indianapolis empowers students with life-changing education, as well as regular health care, daily nutrition, and character/life skills development.
Over 90% of Christel House Indianapolis students receive free and reduced lunch. For the majority of Christel House students, higher education is an unknown to both the student and their families. Our students are empowered to identify and realize their goals, dreams, and human potential.
As a requirement to graduate, all Christel House Indianapolis students must gain acceptance into a four year university to understand that college is a viable option. Through our College & Careers program, we begin exposing our students to higher education in grade school and a variety of career options so they can consider college or job certifications after they graduate. We set high goals for our students and expect they will be successful.
College helps to break the poverty barrier. On average, an individual with a bachelor's degree makes $1 million more in his or her lifetime than a high school graduate. Your support can help students gain greater exposure to higher education or career certifications and help them overcome obstacles in the application process.
