Project Report | May 6, 2021
This has happened along this year...

By Cynthia Modesto | Communications Leader

Dear GlobalGivers,

It’s been a while since the last time we told you about the work of Yo quiero Yo puedo, but here we are!

Since 2015, Yo quiero Yo quiero and Vesta (a Mexican company) established an alliance to contribute with the well-being of girls who live in towns close to the operations of the company in three states of Mexico: Chihuahua, State of Mexico and Tlaxcala.

Since last year, due to the lockdown caused by the pandemic, the organization's work had more than the usual scope to work with girls and boys who study in these schools near the Vesta facilities. Thanks to technology and virtual workshops, instead of reaching 3 or 4 schools, we were able to impact 1 more school, in addition to the fact that before the pandemic it was only working with some elementary education classrooms and since 2020 was possible to impact almost all the groups in each school.

In addition, we were able to work directly with 53 teachers through 2 virtual workshops, taking advantage of technology to familiarize them with some didactic tools and make them aware of the importance of their role in the lives of girls and boys in the middle of the pandemic.

Likewise, we had a virtual approach with the parents of these girls and boys in a primary school in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, to achieve this necessary bond, support and trust between the children and their parents as a tool in any life situation.

Especially in this time of pandemic that has caused girls to stop sharing with their friends and to spend more time with their parents at home, the role of mothers and fathers, and of the teachers who give virtual classes, has become essential in strengthening the life skills of these girls, in self-confidence, in self-knowledge and in the construction of a favorable environment for their better personal development.

We will have more news for you very soon.

Thank you for helping Mexican girls to become agents of change.

With gratitude,

The Yo quiero Yo puedo team
