The African Impact Foundation equips young people with education and skills to move out of poverty. Our holistic approach gives young people in Southern and Eastern Africa the best chance of real, long-term change to break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their community. Our programs focus on 4 pillars that contribute to a brighter future: gender equality, education, wellness, and livelihoods.
Each location has its own challenges and opportunities. With our local teams, community committees, and expert advisors, we design programs to overcome the hurdles for young people locally. Getting an education is a challenge for many children, and adolescence is a time of physical and mental wellness vulnerabilities. Even for the most ambitious young person, securing a livelihood when you're surrounded by poverty is almost impossible. For girls and young women, these challenges are even worse.
We improve access to education by sponsoring school fees, enhancing school facilities, and providing after-school study spaces. By connecting youth to further learning opportunities and providing safe spaces for them to focus on their wellbeing, we hope to set them up for healthy and opportunity-filled futures. By empowering young women to be confident, they become leaders that are capable of moving entire communities out of poverty.
Our vision is for students to have the opportunity and ability to finish school and seek sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship, skills training, and further education, for young people to be mindful of the choices they make about their health and wellbeing, and for girls and young women to be equipped to choose their own pathways to become healthy, positive, and prosperous leaders.
