Dear GlobalGiving Community,
We are thrilled to share our most exciting milestone of the year so far—on March 21, 2025, we officially broke ground on the Youth Community Centre in the Linda Community, Zambia!
This is more than a construction project; it's the foundation of a vibrant, inclusive space where young people can access resources, develop skills, and feel empowered to shape their futures.
A Community Milestone
The groundbreaking event brought together a beautiful cross-section of our community:
Women from our first-ever women’s group helped prepare the land.
Teachers and students from Linda School decorated the grounds, turning it into a celebration of hope.
Beneficiaries and alumni of our education and mentorship programs shared emotional stories of growth, resilience, and the transformative power of support.
This center will be a symbol of unity and progress—for the community, by the community.
Special Moments
We were honored by the presence of Ms. Constance, the Mayor of Livingstone, whose speech affirmed the life-changing potential of this center. She was moved by one of our beneficiaries’ stories and even pledged to personally sponsor her university education!
Highlights included:
Francis, a future midwife and Sponsor an Education beneficiary, is now in his final year of nursing school.
Emily, a Youth Insaka intern, spoke about how the program helped her succeed academically. Her story inspired the Mayor's generous pledge.
Obrien, a graduate of our vocational training program, is now working on the construction site itself—giving back by building the very center that once supported him.
What’s Next?
Construction will officially begin in the coming weeks! We are finalizing the build timeline and will continue to share updates with you as the project takes shape.
