A New Chapter for 40 Bright Smiles:Because of your unwavering commitment, 40 children between the ages of 5 and 10 have found more than just a roof over their heads—they have found a family. These children, many of whom were previously orphaned or abandoned, transitioned from lives of extreme deprivation to a safe haven at the MHO Rehabilitation Center. Your support has transformed "survival" into "growth," providing these little ones with a structured routine, responsive caregiving, and the early stimulation necessary to heal from past emotional trauma.
During this reporting period, the continued generous financial support from our donors has made a substantial and visible contribution to the growth, protection, and development of highly vulnerable children under MHO’s rehabilitation and care program. What was once a situation of extreme deprivation for many infants and young children has been transformed into a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where they are able not only to survive but to grow with dignity, stability, and hope. The support has enabled children to experience basic childhood joys, including celebrating their birthdays together in a caring and protective setting—an experience many had never known before entering the program.
Through the Educate Ethiopia Children – One Pack for One Child project, MHO has provided comprehensive support to 40 children between the ages of 5 and 10 during this reporting period. Most of these children include newly orphaned, abandoned, or otherwise deprived children who previously lived without adequate food, nutrition, shelter, or basic medical attention. Today, they are safely accommodated within the MHO rehabilitation center, where they receive daily meals, essential nutrition, and a stable living environment that directly supports their physical recovery and emotional well-being. Educational material supplies have also been consistently provided, ensuring that school-age children are able to attend school regularly without interruption and continue their learning journey with dignity.
Beyond meeting basic survival needs, the program continues to deliver holistic care that addresses the full spectrum of child development. The rehabilitation center provides structured daily routines, responsive caregiving, and early childhood stimulation activities that are critical for emotional security and cognitive development. Regular health monitoring and access to basic medical follow-up have strengthened the protection system, enabling early identification and timely treatment of common childhood illnesses.
Together, reporting period, we have moved beyond basic necessities to ensure every child thrives. Your contributions have funded:
Let me share a story of resilience of the children pictured celebrating their birthdays together.
When Children Pictured in celebrating their birth day together first arrived at our center, There were not only struggled with lack aces sot basic needs and struggled with the physical toll of malnutrition. All of them had been out of school. Today, thanks to the "One Pack for One Child" initiative, they are the first one ready for school every morning, clutching his new backpack with pride. Their health has stabilized, and his laughter is now a constant sound in our hallways. There journey from vulnerability to confidence is a direct reflection of your generosity.
Looking Forward
As we continue to integrate new children who have been deprived of family nurturing, our focus remains on providing holistic rehabilitation. We are currently preparing for our next academic term and look forward to sharing more milestones of growth and academic success. None of this would be possible without you. Thank you for standing with the children of Ethiopia and giving them a reason to dream.
Note: All pictured children in this report are the primary and real beneficiaries of MHO’s intervention, directly representing the lives that have been supported and transformed through this program and your continued generosity
