10 YEARS OF HEYA MASR
October 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of Amlana Hi Masr Foundation for Community Development. In our first decade, we worked in over 35 communities and impacted more than 10,000 children and families. This is your legacy too.
HAYATI PROGRAM — "MY LIFE" (Children's Programming)
Our flagship four-month children's program, Hayati, equips boys and girls with the tools they need to thrive through three core modules:
• I Am a Leader — Character Building
• I Am Healthy — Proper Nutrition
• I Am Brave — Awareness Against Sexual Harassment and Bullying
This past quarter, we graduated 166 boys and girls, and the results speak for themselves:
Psychological Resilience: improved from 43% → 86%
Key improvements among graduates:
• Sense of security: 64% → 96% (+32 points)
• Good health: 60% → 94% (+34 points)
• Decision-making ability: 35% → 75% (+40 points)
• Self-awareness: 50% → 76% (+32 points)
• Self-confidence: increased by 11 points
• Effective citizenship: increased by 15 points
• Knowledge & behavior: 55% → 92%
These graduations were made possible through community partnerships:
• 21 children — Wasila Association
• 26 children — Al-Burhan Al-Munir
• 56 children — Community School, Ahlam Establ Antar
• 44 children — Hassan Zaki Association
• 19 children — Ma'akom Association
HAYATNA PROGRAM — "OUR LIFE" (Parenting Programming)
Our Hayatna program reached more than 40 parents this quarter, covering critical topics including:
• Parenting self-care
• Female Genital Mutilation awareness
• Early marriage prevention
• Child protection against sexual harassment and bullying
• Healthy nutrition
• The right to education and gender equality
Pre- and post-program evaluations showed powerful shifts:
• Awareness Against FGM: 67% → 96%
• Child Protection: 70% → 80%
• Child Advocacy: 54% → 70%
• Gender Equality: 64% → 83%
• Positive Parenting: 60% → 81%
• Awareness Against Early Marriage: 80% → 96%
• Overall Knowledge Development: 61% → 83%
ONLINE WEBINARS
We continued to extend our reach through expert-led online seminars:
• Emotions of Parents and Children between Childhood and Adolescence — Ms. Youstina Salah
• Sex Education in Childhood and Adolescence, Part Two — Ms. Youstina Salah
• Building Healthy Boundaries with Our Children — Ms. Hanaa Samuel
PARTNERSHIPS
We are proud to have deepened collaborations that amplify our mission:
• American University in Cairo (AUC) — ACE students completed a community-based learning project in support of Heya Masr; the AUC continuing education department co-hosted a five-day summer camp for children.
• Helwan University, Faculty of Social Work — trained 29 students on our program modules.
• Ypeer Network — trained 20 facilitators from our foundation.
2024: A YEAR OF TRANSFORMATION
As we close out an extraordinary year, here is a snapshot of what we achieved together:
Hayati Program:
• 500 children empowered with self-protection skills
• 300 girls became community leaders
• 200 children learned new skills
• 100 children with special needs supported
Hayatna Program:
• 1,000 parents participated in workshops
• 12 educational webinars delivered
• Measurable positive change in family relationships
