Summary

Nyaka provides free, high-quality education to vulnerable girls in rural Uganda, helping them overcome poverty, gender-based violence, and early marriage. Historically, girls in Uganda have had fewer opportunities to attend and complete school due to systemic barriers and cultural norms. With scholarships, health support, and mentorship, Nyaka ensures girls stay in school, graduate, and become leaders in their communities. Your support gives girls the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Challenge

In rural Uganda, girls face significant barriers to education-including poverty, gender inequality, child marriage, and limited access to menstrual health products. Many families prioritize boys' education, while girls are often expected to help at home or marry young. Without support, these girls are far more likely to drop out of school, remain in poverty, and face a higher risk of exploitation or abuse. This cycle of inequality limits their potential and undermines entire communities.

Solution

Nyaka takes a holistic, community-based approach to ensure girls receive education and thrive in it. We provide full scholarships covering tuition, uniforms, school supplies, and meals, removing the financial burden from families. Girls receive menstrual hygiene kits, reproductive health education, and mentorship to support their well-being. By engaging caregivers and raising awareness in communities, Nyaka helps shift attitudes and build long-term support for girls' education.

Long-Term Impact

Over the past two decades, Nyaka has demonstrated that investing in girls' education transforms lives and communities. Hundreds of girls have graduated and gone on to become teachers, nurses, entrepreneurs, and leaders, proving that given the chance, they succeed. The long-term impact is generational: educated girls are more likely to delay marriage, earn higher incomes, support their families, and raise educated children. As more girls graduate and give back, entire communities grow stronger.
