Graduation from University!

By Nyaka Global | nyakaglobal.org

Nyaka has always focused on ensuring that our students receive the education and support needed to thrive and achieve successful futures. Historically, many communities have given less attention and care to female students compared to males, but Nyaka has been working for years to change this. One of the most special times each year is celebrating with the students who have gone through the Nyaka program as they graduate from university.

Many of these students have been with the Nyaka program since they were babies, cared for by Nyaka grandmothers, and progressing through the Nyaka school system. We have witnessed their growth and supported them through each meal, class, birthday, and challenge, helping them to achieve any goal they can imagine. This foundation of love and care continues to be essential in transforming the lives of entire communities, one child at a time.

Recently, we have had the pleasure of watching many of our past Nyaka female students graduate from university with new skills and enter various industries. It is exciting to see Nyaka students, now young adults, choose their own paths, whether by venturing abroad or returning to their home areas to support the next generation.

One recent Nyaka graduate from a university in Kampala, Uganda's capital city, has returned to her home area to serve at a local school. She said, "I am proud that I have had the chance to gain these skills, and I am confident that I will perform my best in my new role as the school bursar of Porlat Des Palaces Secondary School in Kanungu District, starting on June 10, 2024."

Thank you for your support for our young female students, who are growing into women that are changing Uganda and the world for the better.
