Giving Thanks to YOU!

The holidays are finally here!

And in honor of this Thanksgiving, the Nyaka team is celebrating by giving thanks to YOU.

We’ve had an amazing year, and it would not have been possible without all of your generous support.

Through your help, we’ve been able to serve thousands of grannies by providing vocational training, and improving their standard of living with smokeless kitchens and sanitary latrines.

Through your help, we’ve been able to provided hundreds of students with free, quality education in facilities conducive to fun learning opportunities.

And through your help, our Executive Director and Founder of The Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project, Twesigye Jackson Kaguri, was named a CNN Hero! Wow!

It’s been an incredible year, and we wouldn’t have done it without YOU!

But that’s not all…

Now you can watch and see what your support has helped us do in Uganda!

Meet Brenda Phillips, a talented documentary filmmaker and Nyaka volunteer, who traveled to Uganda in March 2012. While at Nyaka, she broke ground on a documentary capturing the stories of the grannies and students of The Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project.

We want to invite you to take a few minutes to see what Brenda’s been up to. Click here to experience her beautiful footage, and see for yourself the changes being made in Nyaka through YOUR support.

Want to see your support go even farther? Then get ready for #GivingTuesday!

GlobalGiving has partnered with Microsoft to celebrate #GivingTuesday for a full day of matching donations! On Tuesday November 27th, for every dollar a donor gives to a micro-project on GiveforYouth.org, Microsoft will donate another dollar. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $200 donation. There are $100,000 in matching funds available.

Check out our Facebook and follow our Twitter while we encourage everyone to take part in #GivingTuesday!
