Your Mother Raised a World Changer!

Your mother would be SO proud.

You are changing the world for a young girl named Sarah Rukundo.

In a letter to Nyaka, Sarah told us her story and the difficult circumstances she’s found herself in. At the age of ten, she lost her mother to AIDS. It wasn’t long after that she lost her father as well.

I became fatherless and motherless. I sat at home for a year without going to school, Sarah wrote.

Since then, different extended family members have taken her in and tried to help her through as much schooling as they could afford. She is now living with her aging grandparents who love her very much but cannot afford to financially support her dreams of obtaining an education.

This is where YOU stepped in.

Through your love and care, the NAOP was able to extend a scholarship to Sarah. She is now enrolled in Bishop Combon College completing her Secondary 5 education.

Sarah is not alone.

Through your compassionate support, the NAOP has extended scholarships to 83 young girls.

These 83 young girls are now less likely to marry or become pregnant while they are teens. Each girl is less likely to contract HIV/AIDS too. You are saving their lives and that is NOT an exaggeration.

Today, you can match Sarah’s passion for education with enough funding to keep girls - just like her - in school!

This Mother's Day, honor your mother or a special woman in your life with a gift that will help many other young girls continue their education.

YOU have done so much for these girls, and for the next few weeks, your efforts could go even further!

In the Mother’s Day Tribute Card Campaign, GlobalGiving is giving away $5 for every donation made as a gift (using a GlobalGiving tribute card) from April 15 until May 13. And to sweeten the deal, we’re offering two $1,000 bonus awards: one for the most money raised and another for the most donors in this campaign.
