Attack of the Pencils

You are a warrior in the battle against poverty.

Your weapon?

614 pencils in the hands of 614 little girls at Nyaka & Kutamba Primary School.

Why?

Because you know the only way to successfully combat poverty is with an education.

You are one smart cookie.

Unfortunately, getting an education in Uganda is not free. If a child cannot afford a uniform, tuition or school supplies, classroom doors are often slammed in their face.

And if a child is female, she has even less opportunities available to her simply because she is a girl

You are stepping in and empowering a community of girls.

You are equipping them with pencils that they will raise to fight poverty. Thank you!

614 students of Nyaka & Kutamba Primary School are sitting for their first term exams and each child has a pencil in their hand because of YOU.

Each child is healthy because you provide them all with access to clean water and plates heavy with nutritious food daily. Each girl is healthy because you also provide them with support when they transition from small girls to young women.

You are winning this battle and poverty is running scared.

It costs $.02 to purchase a pencil in Uganda, yet this small expense prevents girls from going to school every day.

Are you going to let poverty stand in your way?

We didn’t think so.

GlobalGiving is giving away $5 for every tribute card purchased by May 12, while funds last.

Act fast - time is running out!

This Mother's Day, honor someone who fought for your future by purchasing pencils that change the world.

You have the power continue to lead the attack of the pencils for girls in rural Uganda.

We salute you!
