By Nyaka Staff | Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project
Last year YOU gave 192 girls in primary school and 97 girls in secondary or vocational school free education, healthcare, sanitary pads, meals, shoes, school uniforms, and school supplies.
When school starts in less than a month, YOU will be educating even more girls than ever before!
In just days YOUR girls in Primary 7 will be in the first class to attend YOUR Nyaka Vocational Secondary School and we already know they are going to be successful!
Every year YOUR primary seven class is required to take the big Primary Leaving Exam. This test has the power to decide their entire future. It will determine if they will be accepted into the secondary school or vocational school of their choice. Students who do not score high enough are often forced to go to a school that provides a poorer quality of education or they may have to seek out an apprenticeship rather than attending a formalized vocational school.
This year of the 25 female students in primary seven, 23 girls passed with a B+ or higher! All of the students passed with a C or higher!
Without supporters like YOU these girls wouldn’t have the encouragement and support to further their education and make smart decisions. YOU made sure they knew their value and worth, reminding them that there are people, even strangers who truly care about their well-being. YOU gave them the ability to discover their unknown talents and skills.
As the years grow, more girls will be able to have their chance at a positive future!
The more YOU help, the less likely these girls will be trapped in poverty, unable to fulfill their dreams. Because of YOU they will not miss out on valuable education. Even though we are opening the Secondary School soon, we still have a lot of construction to do before it is completed! If you want to help us ensure that this class and all of YOUR future students have the opportunity to get a high quality education, please consider giving to our new project on global giving, Build A School for HIV/AIDS Orphans in Uganda.
YOUR girls and all of us here at Nyaka want to say Thank YOU!
