YOU are helping Girls in Uganda defy the odds and achieve their dreams!
In December YOUR pioneer class of students graduated from high school. Many will go to university to continue their studies!
None of this would be possible without YOU!
Irene is one of the students YOU have helped. Her parents both died when she was very young, leaving her and her two siblings in the care of their grandparents. Their grandparents loved them and cared for them but they couldn’t afford to send all of their grandchildren to school.
They made the difficult choice to send the oldest to school and left Irene and her little brother at home. Irene remembers feeling sad that she wasn’t in school but she knew her grandparents couldn’t afford it. Then one day in church, Irene’s grandmother heard about Nyaka Primary School. The next day Irene and her brother were both registered for school. Irene's future changed dramatically in just one day!
She told us “Nyaka school has changed my life! My dream after my education is to become a teacher so that I can be able to provide free education to HIV/AIDS orphans.”
This year, YOU brought Irene one big step closer to her dream.
YOU have gotten her this far. YOU have given her the tools to get to university and now it's up to her to use this amazing gift to help orphans and girls in her country. YOU may never meet but know that Irene is thinking of YOU with love and gratitude.
