Students are in their last term of the school year and are ready to end the year strong! Thanks to you, the girls don’t have to miss any school days because of their periods, and will be able to keep up their grades just like the boys. Sometimes it can be difficult for girls to keep up in school after they begin their menstruation cycle. It’s common for girls to remain at home during their periods and can miss 3-6 days of school every month because they don’t have the proper sanitary napkins. Missing that amount of school every month can negatively affect their grades, despite their best efforts to keep up. If their grades suffer they might be forced to drop out so they can be home to help their family with the daily chores.
Every girl at Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project is provided with sanitary napkins and are able to stay in school all month long! The girls are also developing a firm confidence that they did not have before they were provided with sanitary napkins. They no longer have to use unsanitary or uncomfortable methods for caring for their periods like leaves or old clothing. They can stay in school, concentrate on their academics, and succeed.
Thank YOU for giving YOUR GIRLS the proper feminine products they need to stay in school month after month!
