The funds will help less privileged children in Zimbabwe have access to education through payment of school fees and sanitary pads support for less privileged school girls. Millions of children in Zimbabwe are excluded from school every year mainly due to failure to pay fees. Of those who finish primary only 47% proceed to secondary school and this is all because of poverty which makes it difficult to pay school fees. Education is a basic human right which everyone should have access even poor
IN 2010 AN ESTIMATED ONE MILLION SECONDARY SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN WERE EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL DUE TO FAILURE TO PAY SCHOOL FEES. 190 000 SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AND 30% OF PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS DROP OUT OF SCHOOL EACH YEAR IN ZIMBABWE (SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN'S AND CHILDREN'S RIGHTS IN ZIMBABWE). 10 T0 15% OF CHILDREN HAVE NEVER ATTENDED PRIMARY SCHOOL AND ONLY 47% OF CHILDREN PROCEED TO SECONDARY SCHOOL. MASVINGO, MATEBELELAND AND MIDLANDS PROVINCES ARE THE WORST AFFECTED.
Funds raised will be used to identify those who dropped out and those who are at the verge of dropping out and ensure that their fees is paid and they are in school.
