Dear Friends,

We want to end 2013 by thanking you for all of the support you have given to the Tibetan children attending school at the Menri Monastery. Your generosity allows these students to continue to receive a high quality education which will have a positive impact on the rest of their lives.

Before we share more information about the day-to-day lives of the students, we want to let you know about an amazing opportunity to make your donation go even further. Today, beginning at noon EST (9am PST), all donations to this project will be matched by Microsoft as part of #GivingTuesday! There are $250,000 in matching funds available, and matching will only last while the funds do, so if you plan to give, please do so early in the day! This is a wonderful chance to double your donation, so please help Creating Hope International take advantage of this opportunity.

During this summer and fall, we have been giving you a peek inside the daily schedule of students at the monastery. We have given you their schedule, told you about the ‘houses’ that the students live in, and the big brother/big sister program to foster a sense of family. We have also given you a glimpse in to the activities that students participate in for fun. Please look back at our past project reports to learn more about these activities.

In the evening, while the older students work with the monks, the younger students spend time learning to read in Tibetan and English. As you can see in the pictures, the students really enjoy reading from their storybooks!

The older students also really enjoy reading and during the holidays they are often given special books to read. Below you can see a picture of the students enjoying their holiday reading time.  The older students also enjoy writing, and organized contest where students were to write poems in English, and then recite them in front of the whole school. The pictures sure make the competition seem like fun!

Finally, all of the students take part in daily chores. Below are pictures of the older students taking time to clean their bedding.

We would once again like to thank you for supporting the education of these students. Your generosity is making a difference in their lives. Thank you.
