EBZEF Project Update #5

By Linda O. Bowers | Executive Director

Melba's Wedding Day March 27th, 2021
Melba's Wedding Day March 27th, 2021

Melba graduated from Roan Antelope School of Midwifery in 2016.  “I work in Mikonfwa Urban Clinic in the labour ward, antenatal and postnatal ward and provide family services.  Am really proud and blessed of what I do.  The source of my blessings is you.  Without your support I wouldn’t be here.”

Melba is an excellent role model for Beth’s Girls in breaking the teen pregnancy syndrome.  First is education, then career, then marriage, and then children.  Congratulations, Melba!

All college/vocational school EBZEF scholarship recipients are currently engaged in their classes.  Covid-delayed commencements are beginning with Gloria, Florence, and Kareen graduating from SW Solwezi Teacher Training College on May 28th.   Several more are scheduled for June.

The three-classroom block under construction by World Vision Zambia should be complete this month.  EBZEF has funded the construction of 200 desks for the new classrooms.  The Headmaster’s house is also near completion.

GlobalGiving donations are helping EBZEF develop our projects in Lumwana West. Our next campaign is the GG July Bonus Day on July 14th beginning at 6:00 A. M. Pacific Time.  Large donations will be matched by GG:  $100-$499 = 15%; $500-$749 = 30%; and $750-$1,000 = 50%.  Please donate as early as possible before matching funds are exhausted.  “The early bird catches the worm!”  Donate at https://goto.gg/43633.  Thank you for helping to make Beth’s legacy possible on the other side of the world.
