We are grateful to GlobalGiving and our astonishing donors for their awesome contributions that have been offered to the Vision Awake Africa For Development family. Your donations allow our team to organize so many unique programs for our students, one of which is the Easter Program.
This event was held on the 5th of April 2023. The makeup of this program was a series of activities that were done by the students. These activities include the Easter egg hunts, songs, Easter bible verses, Easter inspirational poem, Easter movie and finally Eater message. There was a lot of learning fun.
Students were asked to search for the eggs that were decorated and hidden on the school’s premises. It was such an organized and well planned program. One event after the other made it very exciting and participatory for everyone that was part of it. The inspirational Easter poem and Bible verses were done by the students. It was an opportunity for exposure and for them to showcase their talents.
We had an interview with student Jarso of the 8th grade. Jarso told VAAFD news how awesome and unique the program was. She said; she learnt a lot of lessons, especially from the inspirational poems and quotes. In addition she said, watching the crucifixion of Jesus Christ gives her the opportunity to reflect on the love of Christ and knowing that Christ paid the penalty for her sins on the Cross of Calvary. Realizing this brought her inner joy. She and many of the students were grateful to the administration for organizing such an educative and fun program about Easter.
According to the organizer Abigail S. Teah, the program was organized in other to teach the students the meaning and reason Easter is celebrated. Even though it was educative but it was fun as well for the participates. Climaxing the program, we heard the Easter message from the Principal of the school. Rev. Joseph A. B. Gueh talked about the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He said; Easter is the time for Christians to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is said to have occurred on the third day after his crucifixion. Mr. Gueh also asked his students to reflect on the meaning of Easter as the holiday approaches.
Without your contribution, this event would not have been a success. We thank you for your support and for your desire to help us succeed in this project. You have worked hard for the money that you donated to us. We appreciate it and are thankful. Words are fleeting, and we want you to know that a simple “thank you” doesn’t do justice to how deeply we appreciate your support. Their expectation is that such a program becomes a household program at their school. It is our hope that it becomes an annual program. Thank you for allowing us to sustain our efforts in making a difference in our society.
Thank you for everything.
