The June Torch Misions team of 22 provided needed support at the Clinica de Esperanza in Santa Ana, Honduras. After receiving a large donation of vitamins 3 months ago, it became imperitive that medications are under air conditioning so the donation will not be wasted when the humidity takes its toll on products that need to be at a certain temperature.
Part of the responsibility that comes with running a clinic for the poor is making the most of your resources. The team picked up the property while Josh (age 15) knocked a hole in the 50 year old adobe pharmacy to add a airconditioning unit. This will provide the longest lifetime possible for the medication needed to care for the poor.
Donors like Tim and Mark and many others have provided funds that normally would not be available to help with projects at the clinic. None of this would be possible without the generous hearts of our donors.
The Torch Missions team provides the labor workforce as volunteers. Young people come to Honduras to help with our many projects to help care for the poor. It is important that those of us who are blessed here in the United States can help those in need. Believe it or not, those of us who work as volunteers are blessed just as much as the poor when we feel the satisfaction of knowing we can make a difference, whether we are 15 or 55.
Thank you for continuing to make the work possible.
With gratitude,
Gayle Savage Davidson
