It is time to progress into the future here at Clinica de Esperanza. Towards that end construction has begun on the property to house interns, PA students, ARNP students, nursing students and medical students. This will provide American students with the insight to care for people in a 3rd world country.
In addition to the housing, laboratory equipment is being purchased to better enable us to diagnose the clients. This brings the healthcare at the clinic to a entirely different level.
For the construction itself, we have hired jobless Hondurans from Tierre de Padre (land of our fathers) a indigenous Lenca tribe. This will provide for those families during this time. It is impressive that the man who is willing to take charge of the project from Tierre is using different men from the tribe each week to give everyone a equal opportunity of work. This was his idea, not ours. Impressive. Some of these men are also learning how to do concrete and foundation work and developing construction skills.
We are very excited about this project and the expectations are high.
