Educating the brightest and poorest youth of Haiti

Happy New Year!

As we begin our journey through the new year, 2024, we are thankful for the year that just past. We were able to continue our efforts in educating students throughout Haiti.

Even as we have struggled to raise the funds we would like, we were able to fund students in Hinche, Cap Haitien(2), Gonavies(2) , Port au Prince and Les Cayes(3).

In 2024 we would like to be in postition to fund even more. It take $1,000 to keep a student in university and $350 for secondary school. This is a daunting challenge for families financially and emotionally as many students have to leave home to attend school miles away.

These families are willing to make the effort and the investment because they know that education is the way out of poverty, the way to a better life for their children.

Through your generous gifts BonZeb has also been able to support schools in Boucantiste and Hinche. We however lost one school in Croix des Bouquests this year due to the violence in the area. The school and church hope to reopen once the situation allows for the easy passage of students and teachers.

In 2024 we will need to raise $8,000 to maintain the same level of support. That is less than $22 per day. This gift will impact not just the lives of our students, their families, but also their schools and teachers and larger community. 

The New Year often brings new years resolutions. These usually take the form of trying to improve our selves by giving up one thing or another, to lose weight, to get thinner, to eat healthier, etc. 

Our new years resolution at BonZeb is to not give up, to not give in, but to do a little more than last year. With your help we can do just that.
