Good afternoon.
The quote above in from Benjamin Franklin and it holds true today. Education is the best way to fight poverty, slavery, homelessness, violence, hatred and all the vices/biases that we face each day.
BonZeb, Inc. a 501c3 non-profit from Gresham, OR. works in economic and community development and education in Haiti.
Our two-prong mission. First, to create living-wage jobs, while establishing Haitian owned and operated small businesses, through the production of affordable charcoal using environmentally sustainable biomass and a financially sustainable business model and to work with other NGO’s and organization to serve Haiti’s poorest families.
Second, through The Haitian Educational Aid and Resources Inc. BonZeb, Inc., offers direct aid, scholarships, financial aid, and consulting to academically gifted and motivated young adults from Haiti, to empower and enable them to maximize their God given potential and equip them to work toward rebuilding a Haiti where justice and peace thrive.
We are currently operating a farm outside of Thomonde and in partnership with Help4Haiti and the Baptist Missions of Haiti outside Leveque. We also are collaborating with local landowners and farmers in Boucantiste and Bernaco to grow a variety of food crops.
We have also been working with Notre Dame Universities of Haiti in Hinche, Cap Haitien and Gonaives to offer scholarships to students, as well as, working Cardinal Keeler Centre in Gonaives and Fondation Vincent in Cap Haitien to offer scholarships to trade school and secondary school students. We offer financial aid and supplies when we can to El Shadai Ecole in Boucantiste and Safe Kids Child Care School in Hinche. These efforts also include students in Port au Prince and Les Cayes.
With additional funding we will be able to continue these scholarships and grow the program even more.
Thank you.
