From January 2026 until today, we have continued to build a safer and more equitable environment for girls and women through art, education, and activism.
We began the year with the retrospective exhibition “Feather Collectors” in Niš, featuring 24 works by 24 different artists from the first ten years of the Feminist Art Colony. The exhibition presented powerful works addressing themes of the female body, freedom, and resistance.
A major focus was placed on working with young people: through lectures in secondary schools, we engaged with more than 100 students on the prevention of human trafficking, intimate partner violence, and gender-based violence, as well as on ways to seek protection and support. We further brought the issue of human trafficking prevention closer to the wider community through a media campaign on labor exploitation and educational video content.
February was a month of public action and visibility—in Niš, together with citizens, we participated in the global campaign against violence toward women through a large street dance performance (One Billion Rising), while the performance of “The Vagina Monologues” once again created space for women’s voices, experiences, and empowerment. The reading performance featured 14 girls and women.
On the occasion of March 8th, we organized the fifth Women’s March in Niš, delivering a clear message: women’s safety and dignity must become an immediate priority. Through this public gathering, we highlighted systemic inequalities, violence, and the invisible labor of women. Sixty participants joined the march.
We also worked on strengthening cooperation with other organizations while continuing to respond to cases of violence and publicly demand accountability and protection for women.
Our work does not stop—this year, on April 15th, we marked 28 years of existence, reaffirming our long-term commitment to the fight for women’s human rights.
With your support, we will continue to inform, empower, and transform society. Thank you for recognizing the importance of our work.
Stay with us until our next update.
