To promote access to school education, food provisions and money and household advice and guidance for orphans and other deprived girl children and their families in remote and disaffected communities in Nigeria. This will include supporting them by subsidising school fees, equipment and materials, as well as delivering essential foodstuffs and sanitary products to communities, as well as training by volunteer teams. We will need to fund transportation of resources and storage.
There are currently a huge percentage of Girl Children of school age in Nigeria, who are not able to attend school and gain the education that they deserve. This is often due to poverty in general in their communities and many are orphans, with no support network, to pay for school fees and essential equipment, such as books, clothing and sanitary products. Hunger is also a huge problem in such communities, which is what our project aims to eradicate.
This project will enable us to provide the required food, equipment and payment of school fees, so that eventually, no Girl Child of school age, is prevented from going to school and gaining an education. At the same time, we will be able to provide essential training on personal hygiene and how to manage resources, as well as to make available supplies of sanitary pads, and other basic hygiene equipment, clothing and footwear.
The potential long-term impact of our project is to eradicate hunger, homelessness and poverty in otherwise hard to reach communities, as well as providing education to Girl Children, who could become future Leaders in Industry, Commerce, Technology and Politics. This could potentially increase and enhance the standing of Nigeria, as a Nation, in the world as a whole - just by focusing on what might otherwise seem like a small step.
