Moses
Moses

Dear friends,
Education is a ladder that can lift a child out of poverty. For Moses, however, enrollment in primary school moved his family in the opposite direction. The financial strain of paying for school—which includes exam fees, uniform costs, and activity fees— proved too great for Moses’ HIV positive single mother, who asked, “Am I to feed my children, or pay for school fees?” It’s an impossible dilemma for a mother to find herself in, and especially difficult for a child with a desire for a better life. Moses’ mother had no other option; she chose to feed her family.
Moses left home, vowing never to return to school again. He spent the next two years of his very young life as a street child in Molo, fending for himself. It was in these very streets that we approached Moses to tell him that there was a safety net, Springs of Hope Foundation. Since then Springs of Hope Foundation has enrolled Moses in boarding school, relieving a huge and agonizing burden on his HIV positive mother and giving Moses hope for a brighter future. Moses is an exceptionally bright student who is doing very well in his new learning environment.

We have an upcoming opportunity to have all donations to Springs of Hope Foundation doubled through Global Giving on Wednesday, October 7th. Beginning at 12.PM East Coast Time and lasting until Midnight all donations will be matched by Microsoft Youth Spark. What time is it where I live?
Your support helps educate and prepare young people like Moses, as well as supporting our growth at Roko 20 Academy.
Thank you so much!
