By Karyn Beckner | Christmas in a Refugee Village
In December, we returned to serve in a village along the Thai/Myanmar border. The students from TawSeang put on a Christmas program for the Burmese refugee children. The children and whole community were blessed by the time, preparation and care the TawSaeng students put in to putting on the program. There was music, dancing, singing, gift giving, games and relationships built. Every family received groceries and every child received a Christmas gift. The children are so sweet and innocent and appreciative for the attention, care, gifts and especially the friendships they are making with the TawSaeng students. We plan to return to the village again to encourage the children and leaders. Despite the hardships in their lives, we want the people to know that they matter, have value and are cared for.
