Dear friends, donors, and interested people,
At our school in Mombasa, Kenya, things are ticking along as usual. There is a daily struggle to pay food, stationary, and teacher bills but the school's doors remain open.
However the team have come up with a solution to this via small-scale income generation projects. They currently rent one house to help cover food and maintainence costs but this only provides a small proportion of the funding needed; some students who can afford to also pay small fees to the school but a sizeable gap still remains. Therefore donations are still absolutely vital for the survival of the school and its feeding programme; just $15 could feed a child breakfast and lunch for an entire month!
Brian, the headteacher also has ambitions of building a new modern school, larger than the current one; this will allow many more children from the local area to access the quality education and food they deserve.
Thank you for your support.
