SUCCESS STORY OF GIRL CHILD

Girl Child  is born with HIV as per  mother to child transmission during birth. When she is 4 years old both her parents passed away  due to HIV . At that time the responsibility of the child taken care by her maternal uncle .

She stayed with uncle for 2 years. In those two years child  used to go the Nutrition camps conducted by the DESIRE Society  and used to receive the benefits of the Nutrition Kit which contains high protein diet.  After two years the uncle could not take the responsibility of the child as she was having  HIV. The outreach worker suggested the organization” DESIRE  Society “  which will take care of such children with HIV.

When she was 6 years old when she came to  “ DESIRE Society “  .She was  in malnutrition stage and underweight with having opportunistic infections. At that time the special care was taken by the organization and provided the quality food with the doctors advise. Quality health care was provided and structured counseling was given to the child. She recovered within  one month from the general weakness and year - long medication was given. However, she also started ART Medicine which is life long main medication for such children.

She was admitted in the Sri Sai Vidyakethan School and passed out 10th standard this year with 95 percentage marks. Along with this she was encouraged in all forms of talents such as Art and crafts ,dances & singing.

Her goal is to become a software engineer and get a good position in the society. And she also wanted to be an active member in spreading the awareness against discrimination tagged with HIV children. The GlobalGiving support is making to achieve her goals fulfilled in timely manner.
