We are glad to share with you an update on the activities of Grupo Nós +Educação at the beginning of 2026. This period has been marked by continuity, deepening of the work with adolescents, and a strong focus on supporting their transition into adulthood through professional development, identity building, and life planning.
We started 2026 with the same group of 15 adolescents, maintaining a central focus on professional qualification and access to the world of work, combined with cross-cutting themes that support the development of life projects, identity, and their relationship with the broader world, in continuity with the educational pathway of Grupo Nós +Educação.
Dreams we commit to care for
In January 2026, Grupo Nós +Educação held its first gathering of the year at Parque da Juventude, with a picnic organized through a financial education activity. The moment included reflections on goals for 2026, recorded in a “time capsule,” and the planting of seeds as a symbolic gesture representing each participant’s dreams. Surrounded by nature, the meeting strengthened bonds, a sense of community, and youth protagonism, with adolescents actively engaged in planning and purchasing decisions.
Career Guidance
In February, two group sessions focused on career guidance were held, supporting adolescents in identifying their interests, skills, and possible career paths. The main activity, known as the “Curtograma,” encouraged reflection on personal preferences and their connection to professional fields, based on Holland’s hexagonal model. This was complemented by research and group discussions about professions and career trajectories.
The adolescents showed strong engagement, good group integration, and meaningful connections to their personal realities. One highlight was J.’s reflection on their interest in working within a ministry context and the challenges involved. At the end of the sessions, participants were invited to individual meetings with a career counselor between March and May, in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Group Process: Bonds, Autonomy, and Collective Responsibility
The first meeting in March focused on reflecting on the group process, strengthening bonds, and encouraging mutual respect and shared responsibility. The session also promoted reflections on attitudes, interpersonal relationships, and life projects, while fostering autonomy through practical experiences. These included financial education activities, such as a visit to the market to purchase breakfast for the group, as well as shared responsibility for organizing spaces and honoring collective agreements. Activities included self-awareness exercises, revisiting group agreements, and facilitated group discussions.
Gender Relations: Stereotypes, Experiences, and Reflections
The session on gender relations began with a financial education activity at the market and collective organization of breakfast, followed by a review of group agreements. An opening activity encouraged participation and prepared the group for the discussions of the day.
The core activities addressed gender roles and stereotypes, promoting reflections on how they are constructed and their impact on choices and relationships. The meeting concluded with group sharing, revealing different levels of reflection and connections to personal experiences.
Professional Qualification
Between March and May, some of the adolescents supported by Grupo Nós +Educação have been participating in professional qualification courses at Instituto Ser+, with pedagogical support. This initiative aims to expand access to training opportunities and strengthen pathways into the workforce.
At the same time, other adolescents continue to engage in ongoing activities such as full-time schooling, local vocational training programs, and work opportunities, including internships and apprentice positions.
These initiatives and partnerships, alongside other project activities, play a key role in strengthening adolescents’ life projects and supporting their transition out of care, contributing to the construction of dignified and autonomous adult lives.
