Celebrating Annual Sports of 2023
On 09-12-2023, a sports event was organized at Rupnagar Model School and College at Mirpur of Dhaka city for all residential and non-residential blind students of Dhaka based BERDO “Residential Blind School. At 10.00 A.M. BERDO Executive Director and State Awardee, (EKUSHA PADAK) Md. Saidul Huq inaugurated the Annual sports event. At prize giving ceremony, other distinguished guest principal of Rupnagar School and College Professor Md. Sirazum Munir, Advisor of BERDO Advocate Musharraf Hossain, lecturer of special Education Center and Social Welfare Officer Mr. Ershad Ali were graced the sport event by participating. Among BERDO officials, three Deputy Directors namely Md. Shahid Ullah, Ms Maksuda Akter and Md. Salim Uddin were present at the event. In addition, volunteers, other officials and staff of BERDO were attended the function.
All participating Blind School students were divided into three groups and the number of total event were fixed at nine. All three groups had participated in three events like 1. 100-meter race, 2. Frog Jump, 3. Cockfight. In addition, another Bengal local sport called Ha du du ( Kabadi) game was also organized collectively for all blind student and Pillow game was organized for all volunteers and officers. One Blind student Masum took three first prizes and Deputy Manager Ms. Feroza Akter got 1st price in Pillow competition. Another interesting game was Bag race and Ha Du Du. All participants found enjoyed these two game with much fun fare and applauds.
Besides, all enjoyed much the Pillow game for volunteers and officers.
After the event, a prize giving ceremony was organized for distribution of prizes to the winners. BERDO Executive Director and state honored person Md. Saidul Huq , Principal of Rupnagar School and College and other eminent guests delivered their brief speeches before prizes distribution. Total 27 prizes were distributed to the winners of different categories. Besides, special consolation prizes were also distributed to students, officials and volunteers who did not get any prizes. At 1.00 P.M., the function was delated over.
