By Ilaria Ventura | Project Assistant
In September the Aleimar Country Manager of Palestine traveled to Bethlehem, in order to monitor the progress of the “Effetà” project. The Palestinian situation is still very uncertain and tense. This situation impedes the development any kind of entrepreneurial initiative aimed at the employment of locals. This uncertainty causes the economical dependence on state support and jobs, which are affected by corruption and a consequent waste of resources.
Our project referent Sister Piera is in Italy because of an operation to her legs. Since she will stay in Italy for a while, Sister Lara is now replacing her. She told our country manager they still need help, in order to continue their activities. Now more than ever, we want to reaffirm the importance of children education. In this regard, our next goals for the Effetà school will be to buy an interactive whiteboard and to create a speech therapy classroom and a psychomotricity gym.
We would like to renew our gratitude to all of you for believing in our project, since it is thanks to your support, that we can carry on our actions!
