Dear Donors,
The war in Palestine has reached levels of violence and destruction never seen before. Even the West Bank, once considered relatively more stable, is now deeply affected. In Bethlehem – city of peace and symbol of coexistence – families are fighting every day just to survive. The situation deteriorates with each passing week: access to basic necessities such as food, clean water, and medical care is becoming increasingly difficult.
Yet, even in this context of fear and hardship, there are places where hope resists, where dignity is protected, and where the future is still being built.
In Bethlehem, Aleimar supports the Effetà Institute, a specialized school for children with hearing impairments. Without this center, many of these children would remain isolated, excluded from education and communication, invisible to society. But thanks to the dedication of the educators and therapists at Effetà, these children begin a journey toward autonomy, inclusion, and expression.
On June 30th, the institute celebrated its 54th anniversary – a milestone that speaks of perseverance, love, and countless stories of transformation. Since its founding, Effetà has welcomed hundreds of children, offering them not just education and rehabilitation, but also a place where they are truly seen, heard, and valued.
Education at Effetà is not only about language and academic content, but it is also about expression, creativity, and inner discovery. In recent months, despite the conflict outside its gates, the school has continued to offer workshops in art, colors, beading, and crafts. In these activities, children explore new ways to communicate: each creation becomes a small victory over silence.
Every day, the educators and staff at Effetà help deaf children open a door to the world: a world that too often excludes them, but which they now begin to approach with new strength and confidence.
With your help, we can continue to provide these children not just an education, but the tools to build their identity and future.
Together, we give voice to those who cannot be heard.
Together, we create hope where it is most needed.
