Childhood Unchained ! Road to Freedom.....

By Team | RSKS India

Dear Patron Namaste!!

A Warm Greeting from RSKS India.....

The pervasive issue of child marriage poses a significant threat to the well-being and future prospects of countless young girls. The practice, deeply ingrained in conservative mindsets, hindered the realization of children's rights and perpetuated cycles of poverty and inequality. Recognizing child marriage as a pressing concern, RSKS identified the urgent need to challenge and transform the prevailing attitudes that condoned this harmful practice. The lack of awareness and resistance to change within these communities posed a substantial barrier to eradicating child marriage and protecting the rights of the most vulnerable.

In response to the challenge of child marriage, RSKS India initiated the "My Childhood-My Rights" Campaign, a proactive and impactful strategy aimed at raising awareness and fostering community-led change. The campaign orchestrated road rallies, comprising approx 1500 children from 30 different rural schools. By actively involving children in advocating for their rights, RSKS India sought to challenge the acceptance of child marriage in these communities. The rallies served as a visible and compelling message against child marriage, designed to reach every corner of the rural landscape.

The "My Childhood-My Rights" Campaign involved 1500 children which emerged as vocal advocates against child marriage, using the road rallies as a powerful medium to convey their message. The visibility of these rallies ensured that the anti-child marriage message reached even the remotest corners, challenging deep-seated beliefs and fostering a collective commitment to change. The impact of the campaign was not limited to awareness alone; it catalyzed a shift in the conservative mindset of the rural community. The active participation of school administrations and children prompted community discussions, challenged the social acceptance of child marriage, and encouraged reporting of potential cases. The campaign, therefore, marked a significant step toward dismantling the societal norms that perpetuated child marriage.
