Respected Patron Namaste!
In many rural areas, there exists a pressing issue related to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices. Limited access to clean water sources and a lack of awareness about proper hygiene contribute to the spread of waterborne diseases, affecting the health and well-being of the community. Particularly, young school girls often bear the brunt of inadequate WASH practices, facing challenges related to personal hygiene and sanitation facilities. The absence of proper education on these matters perpetuates the cycle of preventable illnesses, leading to a negative impact on the academic performance and overall health of school-going children.
To tackle the pervasive issue of inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene practices, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan's team undertook the "Be Clean - Be Healthy Campaign." This initiative aimed to spread mass awareness about WASH principles among 40 schools and reached out to 2000 rural school girl children. The RSKS team utilizing visual aids such as flipcharts to engage with the children in hands-on activities to impart knowledge effectively. During the workshops, the team encouraged active participation by posing questions to the children, creating an interactive learning environment. The use of visual flipcharts facilitated a better understanding of WASH practices, and also these children signed on the signature banner taking oath to aware more people about WASH, this made the information accessible and engaging for these children. The incorporation of hands-on activities, such as handwashing demonstrations, served as practical lessons that the children could apply in their daily lives. As a positive reinforcement, at the end of each workshop, all participating children were given chocolates, creating a sense of excitement and reward associated with adopting healthy practices.
The "Be Clean - Be Healthy Campaign" by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan has made a significant impact on the lives of 2000 rural school girl children across 40 schools. The campaign successfully addressed the knowledge gap related to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices, empowering these children with essential skills for a healthier lifestyle. The mass awareness workshops, conducted with the help of flipcharts and interactive activities, facilitated a deeper understanding of WASH principles among the school children. The positive impact of the campaign is evident in the changed behaviors and increased awareness among the school children.
