A Story of REKHA.........!!

My name is Rekha (Name Changed), and I am 14 years old. I come from a small village where life revolves around farming and daily labor. Like many girls in my village, I didn’t have the chance to go to school regularly. Sometimes, I would help my mother in the fields or with household chores. My parents wanted the best for me, but financial hardships always came in the way. I thought education wasn’t meant for girls like me. One day, something unexpected happened. A team from Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan came to our village. They spoke to my parents and told them about the "Pathshala: A Value-Based Education School" program. They explained that this school was designed for girls like me who had missed out on education or dropped out of school. My parents agreed to enroll me, and that decision changed my life.

When I joined the Pathshala School, I was nervous. There were about 45 girls in my class, all from similar backgrounds. Our teachers were kind and encouraging, and they taught us more than just reading and writing. We learned about moral values, discipline, and the importance of education. Every morning started with yoga and exercises, which I had never done before. The school wasn’t just about studies. We also learned practical skills like sewing and entrepreneurship. I never imagined I could make something useful with my own hands. We were taught about menstrual health, which helped me understand my body better and overcome the taboos surrounding it in our village.

Pathshala school celebrated festivals and important social days, which brought the community together. My favorite memory was celebrating Independence Day. We sang patriotic songs, performed dances, and felt proud of our country. After two years, we had a big ceremonial function to mark the end of the program. I received a passing certificate, which made me feel so proud. My parents were beaming with happiness, and I could see the respect they had for the Pathshala program. Now, I’m confident and determined to continue my education. I dream of becoming a teacher one day so I can help other girls like me. I am grateful to RSKS India for giving me this opportunity. Pathshala didn’t just educate me; it changed my life and gave me hope for the future.
