Project Report | Jul 27, 2023
Engaging Students with STEM

By Tad Kincaid | Executive Director

We love summer! Kidspire typically runs an extracurricular educational technology program for students living in orphanages in Vietnam. Most of our classes are taught in the evenings and on weekends - working around the school schedule, homework, and the other responsibilities students have in the orphanage. But in the summer when kids are out of school we can offer full-day and full-week STEM Camps! And we love it!

Take a look at some of the fun photos attached to this report. They were taken in a province in the central of Vietnam. A remote location where the kids rarely have the chance to participate in STEM education. It's so fun to see kids engaged, excited about learning, and ready for the next day of classes.

Thank you to those of you who have given contributions to help make these programs possible.

Sincerely,

Tad

P.S. This 'Continued Learning During Covid-19' project will be winding down before the end of August - but regular Kidspire programming will continue in Vietnam. Kidspire created this project during the height of Covid-19 when we were working to keep our students engaging and continuing in their learning despite government restrictions that are limited our access to orphanages. You helped us keep going and we are better for it today. In addition to the many different ways we were able to keep our students engaged with learning activities via remote and virtual learning - today we continue to offer a hybrid approach in our classrooms, offering some activities via video and others via in-person access. Covid-19 forced us to re-think the way we deliver our content to our students and we believe we now offer a more relevant and varied approach to engaging our students.
