The new school year is fully underway and soon to be coming into its second month! The new term has not been without some changes however; a new national schedule for the year has been implemented in Ecuador, with school terms being different lengths for this year. The team are busy adapting and coming to terms with it all!
We have also started employing local teachers for the 1st grade and computer classes, which is a great step forward! This could only have been done though the continuous support and generous funding from donors. These teachers will help show the children in the communities that good studies leads successfully to good employment, of which becoming a teacher is seen as a very good job! Having local staff will also foster strong communities and ensure the indigenous popluations are not swallowed up by development and ruralisation.
Thank you for continuing to support the communities in Ecuador
