Thanks to our wonderful donors school opened for a new year on 2 September!!
School closed for the year at the end of July with a 97% pass rate across the three schools which gave parents, teachers and the kids a good reason to celebrate! So on the last day, school was officially closed with some speeches, dancing, silly games and a delicious meal of roasted chicken and guinea pig (eurgh!).
We also said a sad farewell to Als & Zoe who have been running the projects for many years together and Andy who has been supporting them for the last year. The project has now been handed over to the communities to run as we step into the second phrase of sustainability plan with Fly The Phoenix funding the education but the local community running it.
As school reopened on Monday, you, our wonderful donor, will be continuing to fund the children's daily education and nutrition programmes whilst also funding our sustainable plans. Plan IronWoman and Plan Papa are continuing with excellent success with all 300 tons of potatoes being cared for by our Dads, Don Guitarra and Don Lanchimba.
Thank you for making this happen and continuing to support our three schools in Ecuador!
