Pilot group progress: Women in our pilot program have successfully completed phase 2 of the curriculum. Thanks to your generous donations, we have been able to provide cooking and pastry pastry classes with top notch professors, as well as culinary business and project and resources management classes, which have successfully equipped fellows with the necessary skills to have their business ideas up and running after having developed and successfully validading prototypes for their products and services. Thanks to the successful sales of their newly launched businesses, we have been able to increase their accumulated income by 80%. For Mother´s Day, for instance fellows were able to secure sales of their lunch menus within their communities way past what they expected
In times of Corona: We have able to maintain an attendance rate of 80%. Due to coronavirus, in-person classes migrated virtual classes. We provided 1 on 1 training to ensure a successful transition.
Cohorts 2 and 3: with the support from Kalpata teachers and community leaders, we launched successfully launched a call for two new cohorts. Out of 110 women who applied after undergoing a rigorous selection process, 50 new inspiring and talented women in need were selected to be part of the new cohorts. Cohots 2 and 3 have successfully initiated the program, and thanks to the generosity of donors we have managed to provide them with full and partial scholarships.
