Gau Pipla, a remote village which is around 100 miles away from the township of Udaipur. Life over here is as tough as its geographical terrain. The scattered land forms which easily get flooded with seasonal rainfall provide you no means of transportation. Over such land forms, the possible mean for traveling is walking only. Apart from all those of tyranny, the government school in the region is around 5 kms. far resulting less footfall of children towards school, especially during the rainy season when the only way to school is being blocked by a number of seasonal streams. Many children had left their schooling because of this reason.
In 2008, Seva Mandir intervened in this issue and had started a bridge school (NFE- Non Formal Education Centre) in Gau Pipla. It was very difficult to bring those school dropout children back to school. Ram- the instructor explains - "In the starting days people over here have no concern about their children's education. This negligence towards education led many factors like migration and child labor.” With the continuous efforts of Ram in convincing the parents about the importance of Education finally he had succeeded in bringing the children towards school.
For the past eight years, this NFE center is doing well, resulting in getting better quality education for these children. This NFE center currently has the strength of 50 children out of which 21 are girls and 29 are boys.
Children of this NFE are quite smart and quick learner. Neha, a young girl aged 9 from this NFE, wants to become a teacher. She says that she loves to attend the classes and also shares with her parents whatever she learns in class. Even though her wings are small but she tries her best to fly towards her dream.
Your generous support can lead many such dreams to go beyond the barrier.
