Dear Friend,
Nina, aged 16 raised in Kada, a deprived village of Jhadol block. The village lacks basic facilities like education, health and sanitation. Teacher absenteeism & lack of quality education in the Government schools force many of children in this village to drop out at primary level. Even in Nina's family, her elder siblings have left school after the primary level to help with household chores and in cattle rearing.
In 2004, Seva Mandir started a NFE (Bridge School) in Kada to provide quality education to the children in the age group of 6-14.
Nina had her education up to 9th standard in the nearby Government school in her village. At the time of registration and enrollment of standard 10th, she was denied by her teachers. It shook Nina from within, she wanted to continue her education but was told- she lacks the basic competencies to study in 10th standard. This was the breaking point for Nina, where she would have quit but her parents supported her.
After the denial from school, her parents explain the whole situation to the NFE teacher- Keshu. Understanding the situation, Keshu assured them that he will do his best to keep Nina's education going. For next two years, Keshu, supported her by providing remedial classes to meet the expectations of class 10th. With the serious efforts of Keshu and dedication of Nina, improvement in her learning level could be seen.
Once again Nina approached the Government School for admission in 10th standard. This time, teachers at government school conducted a test for Nina, to check her learning level. But Nina, not only passed the test with flying colors, also proven her dedication to the teachers.
Thanks to NFE teacher Kheshu, who understand that his responsibilities are not only limited to his NFE’s children but way beyond.
Thank you for your support and for the confidence that you have placed in us. None of this would have been possible without you.
Regards
