Together for Education: Empowering Young Learners

By Rebekah Hawkins | Assistant Director

We want to extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. Your generosity continues to make a powerful difference in the lives of primary school children across our 12 partner schools throughout Ouelessebougou. Your commitment to our mission is the reason we can keep moving forward—and we are truly thankful for the trust you’ve placed in us.

We’re excited to share the latest updates on our student population in 2025. This year, we have a thriving group of 491 first graders, including 225 girls and 266 boys. The village of Tamala saw the highest number of new first-grade enrollments with 71 students, 41 of whom are girls.

Our total student population across our 12 primary schools in 2025 is 2,446, with 1,177 girls and 1,269 boys enrolled. The Djemene School remains our largest, serving 331 students. However, due to structural issues, only three of its classrooms are currently safe for use. This poses a significant challenge and limits our ability to provide a quality learning environment.

One of our key goals is to raise funds to improve and expand the Djemene School, creating safe, functional classrooms that inspire learning and growth. With your continued support, we can make this vision a reality and ensure that even more children have access to the education they deserve.

Thank you for being such an essential part of this journey. Together, we are creating lasting, meaningful change.

With heartfelt thanks,

Rebekah Hawkins
Assistant Director
