At Niños de Guatemala, we truly believe that a high-quality education is the best tool to break the cycles of poverty. We provide high-quality education to over 530 students yearly, through our 3 schools. We offer both elementary and secondary bilingual education. Every year we receive about 50 new students at our schools where their futures are transformed through a holistic approach to education that includes Spanish literacy, math and science, technology skills, English language competency, and the building of emotional intelligence which will serve them in all areas of life. As a complement to our academic programs, we also offer access to a psychology professional and a social worker on-site, a monthly school for parents, and a balanced daily meal, for all students at all three schools.
Computer use & technology fluency will become a new form of literacy in the near future. Having access to technology licenses during the covid crisis allowed us to give our students the best possible education under lockdown and hybrid school modalities. Thanks to these licenses our students could continue to learn and grow academically at school and at home.
Currently all students are back at school in presence, full time, but these education licenses allowed us to provide education at a competitive level for over 3 years: For that we thank you sincerely.
Our needs are now shifting from more educational licenses to newer computers. We aim to keep our laboratories up to date, and our students’ skills competitive for today’s fast changing world. Please stay tunned for upcoming campaigns raising funds for technology programs for our students at Niños de Guatemala’s computer laboratories.
Thanks to generous donors, sponsors, volunteers and community-tour takers, our programs have continued to grow. Thanks to your support we can continue to educate children, youth, and families in vulnerable situations, beyond the traditional classroom. Thank you for being an important part of Niños de Guatemala through your generous and continuous donations!
Sincerely,
