Today, Turkey is home to the largest refugee population in the world with nearly 4 million refugees coming from over 60 nations. Having a sustainable life in Turkey is the part that you can take action by supporting education not only by encouraging over 1 million refugee children to get enrolled in schools but also continue their education at university. Fight against "lost generation", child labor and marriage and be part of the resilience and empower youth to build their countries' future!
This generation of children is being shaped not only by violence and displacement but also by an absence of prospects for their future. Economic pressures on families who have fled to neighboring countries mean children face years without formal education, many forced into child labour or early marriage. Continuing their higher education is another challenge for refugees since fees to get enrolled is far beyond from what they can afford!
Education will be the key to the self-sufficiency, self-reliance, resilience, fight against radicalization, decent work and life conditions , fight against child labor and marriage, knowledge and vision to build their countries' future. Education will provide refugees with skills to stand alone without depending on others! Lets empower children and youth to enable them to create their own future!
when the crisis ends and these children grow up, they will be the ones rebuild their countries. The world, cannot afford to lose a generation of children and youth to hopelessness, especially when it is children who can help drive forward a future of peace. Without education, the world cannot expect from the children and youth who have seen the worst of the humanity during the war to establish a better future!
