Emir's Dreams Brighten the Future

By ASAM | Project Leader

Emir, coming to Türkiye from Syria with his mother 6 years ago, tells the story of a child who bravely overcame difficulties. Learning Turkish and continuing his education in Türkiye, Emir strives to step into a hopeful future.

As a 6th-grade student, Emir continues his education life in Türkiye with determination. Emir, who did not know any Turkish when he came to Türkiye, started primary school in Türkiye and learned Turkish while he was going to school.

Emir, who experienced the difficulties of coming to a new country with his mother as an only child, survived this process with his love and determination for his mother.

Emir’s favorite subjects are science and mathematics and dreaming of becoming a computer engineer. He would like to improve himself in this direction so he participates in workshops held at the Association for Social Development and Aid Mobilization (ASAM) offices. Emir, who also loves reading books, gets inspired by books to explore the world.

Emir's biggest dream is a world where children all over the world are happy and free. Expressing his feelings by saying, "There are many children in ASAM offices. Maybe we do not all speak the same language, but we draw our pictures with the same dreams. There are smiling children in all of them. I also want the children to always laugh.”

Emir's story symbolizes the effort to overcome the difficulties that many children like him face and move towards a hopeful future. Emir's story inspires immigrant children as a messenger of a tomorrow full of hope and determination.

Note: The real name of the beneficiary has been changed.
