Dear supporter,

Thank you for supporting this life changing programme.

We would like to share with you the story of Igor and how with your support we are able to help young people have a future.

His family was extremely poorThey lived in only one room in a social hostel. His mother was a stay-at-home mum, and his father was the only income earnerWhen he was 10 his dad left the family, he simply disappeared, and no one ever heard from him again. Igor did not like school, and he missed his lessons. He was involved in shoplifting and robberies.

Then after a few years his mother died, her heart stopped and a year later his older sister died from heart conditionThe only relative they had was their grandmother, but she was too old to be given custody, so all the children were sent to the orphanage.

After he finished year 9 he started college in Mukachevo, Ukraine to be a joiner. He lives in a student hostel in our partner's block.  He really likes living there.

He says he feels safe, he was worried he might get into a bad company again. However now he feels well, he is dreaming of having a good job and enough money to have a family.

At the hostel he has all the support he needs to fight for his dreams. He is participating in the Independent Learning Programme a 2-3 year life-changing programme which involves structured courses for independent living including areas such as health and hygiene, time and money, risk of substance abuseformal and informal education to boost the literacy & numeracy for young people who have only the very basics otherwiseplanning for independent living including further education, accommodation, employment, leisure & cultural interests, relationships and community engagement

Igor wants to forget his old life and correct his mistakes from the past. He wishes his sister will attend the programme too.

With your support we are giving Igor the tools to achieve his dreams.

 Thank you
