Dear Supporter,
Can a laptop transform a life?
In Ukraine today, where so many lessons happen remotely, the answer is yes. A simple device becomes a lifeline — helping a child continue learning, stay connected, and hold onto hope even during uncertainty.
Can one-to-one support in an afterschool club make a difference?
Absolutely. Personal attention builds confidence, strengthens school performance, and nurtures a positive attitude toward learning. It’s a small input that creates a profound change.
We would like to share one story that reminds us why this work matters.
There was a young girl who struggled quietly. She was often a little behind, unsure of herself, and stayed on the edges of the classroom because her confidence was so low. Her mother worked long hours just to provide the basics, leaving little time for homework help or emotional support. She felt alone.
Everything began to shift when she joined our afterschool club.
She found a welcoming space — a place to learn, to be encouraged, and to be heard. She made friends. She received gentle, patient help with reading and writing. She played. She laughed. She learned. And with each small success, her confidence grew. Like a flower finally given sunlight, she blossomed.
This is the heart of our programmes: creating opportunities for children to learn, grow, and feel supported even when life around them is difficult. This support also extends to young people at risk, offering lifeskills training, safe dormitories, academic help, and emotional support to prepare them for independent living.
And none of it would be possible without you.
If you ever feel able to support the project monthly, even a small recurring gift helps us plan ahead and care for children consistently. But simply being part of this journey already means so much to us and the children we serve.
Thank you for standing with us, for caring, and for helping children at risk feel seen, supported, and full of potential.
With heartfelt gratitude,
ChildAid to Eastern Europe
